Railway track deformation measurement
Leischner, Ludvík ; Bureš, Jiří (referee) ; Švábenský, Otakar (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about measuring deformations on railway bridge in Znojmo. The horizontal and vertical changes of railway track on the bridge and newly renovated bridge construction were measured by using two independent methods, namely 3D polar method and kinematic GNSS Stop & Go method. The assessment of the longitudinal shifts depending on atmospheric conditions especially the temperature changes is an essential goal of this work. Another key aim is the determination of precision of both independ-ent measuring methods.
Fully probabilistic evaluation of the load-bearing capacity of a shallow foundation
Šarman, Jan ; Závacký, Martin (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the topic of probabilistic design of the shallow foundation. In the first part deterministic and probabilistic design will be described. Subsequently both methods will be aplicated on assigned problem. Finally both methods will be evaluated and compared.
Portfolio Diversification through Investment in Stock Indices
Křižka, Adam ; Ryndová, Jitka (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the design of suitable stock exchange indices for portfolio diversification. The essence and principle of functioning of financial markets and investment funds is presented. According to suitable indicators, stock exchange indices are analyzed and compared with the market. Suitable indices are verified by means of correlation analysis and subsequently recommended to diversify the portfolios of investment funds managed through the investment company.
The Use of Means of Artificial Intelligence for the Decision Making Support on Stock Market
Vaško, Jan ; Kříž, Jiří (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with analyzing the possibility of using artificial intelligence, specifically artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic, on the capital markets as a tool to support decision making in business. The Matlab software is used for this purpose. The work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with theoretical knowledge, brief description of the current situationin is covered in a second part and the theoretical solutions are applied to the system in the third section.
Securities portfolio optimization
Pinkava, Ondřej ; Bartošek, Vladimír (referee) ; Sojka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This dissertation deals with the securities portfolio optimization. After introducing the definitions, I try to explain the particular investment instruments with regard to returns and risks. The following part provides a theory which tells more about different market risks and returns on the final securities portfolio. Concerning these models the effective portfolio has been set up.
Preprocessing of 1D gel electrophoresis image
Svozilová, Veronika ; Škutková, Helena (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this work is to propose an algorithm in MATLAB, allowing image processing and evaluation of one-dimensional gel electrophoresis. At first describes the detection of samples based on the horizontal segmentation of electrophoresis gel image, followed by detection of the minimum intensity values of the image, a vertical segmentation and determination of the sample boundaries in the image. The final phase involves testing of the method on publicly available images and evaluation of the results.
Optimalization of the die cast process of high-voltage transformers.
Borunský, Tomáš ; Fiala, Alois (referee) ; Maroš, Bohumil (advisor)
This thesis deals with choises of using mathematical statistics when optimising the compression casting process of high-voltage device transformer. There is a theoretical consideration to be found in the introduction which concerns the compression casting itself and all necessary information connected with it. Then there is a key numerical analysis part following. In the first instance there are variability problems of individual casting device discussed and then a regression analysis made to demonstrate and prove a link between the partial discharge and the key parameters of casting process. Finally an “optimal” casting sequence is suggested and alternative attitude problems with the assistance of Design of Experiments (DOE) are discussed.

Quality of The Track Geometry Progress
Nejezchlebová, Jitka ; Kulich, Pavel (referee) ; Svoboda, Richard (advisor)
The bachelor ’s thesis deals with the development of track geometry over time. The theoretical part describes the methodology for measuring and evaluating of track geometry. The practical part deals with the section evaluation on the double-track line Brno Maloměřice - Adamov. The MATLAB system was used for evaluation. For chosen sections, the graphs were regressed to determine the quality development for all parameters. Regressions were also used to determine which parameter deteriorates the fastest over time, in which track the parameters deteriorate faster and whether it can be said that the increase is faster before or after the repair.
Utilization of inverse reliability analysis tools for probability based design of selected structural parameters
Lipowczan, Martin ; Novák, Drahomír (referee) ; Lehký, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of methodology and tools of inverse analysis in regards to probabilistic design of selected design parameters of structure. The first step was to get familiar with the probabilistic design and analysis, then understanding of the inverse analysis methodology itself which is based on artificial neural networks. After researching the topic we could get to the actual issue. To put the theory in practice easier examples were used at first. These were mathematical functions and one practical-based example, whereas the results were known in advance. This simplified a process of checking achieved values. Using software tools and especially DLNNET software allowed us to take on practical exercises. Used exercises are chosen from earlier undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno. The first of these was a design of reinforced concrete slab, where desired parameters were slab’s height and area of reinforcement. The second one was a design of a diagonal truss screw connection, aimed to size the screw diameter and its quantity.
